plastic surgery

I have not as of yet gotten plastic surgery.

Today I went into Nürnberg and got my hair cut. That was fun and stuff. I also made plans to go to Christoph's house on sunday, and that will be cool.

Sorry I haven't been to enthusiastic with the blog lately, but I am just too busy.

well, have a nice day

day 120

Well, sorry for not writing for a while, I just didn't feel like it. Not much is happening, I've started hanging out with the people in my class much more than before, I spent the entire weekend with the Flegler's, and the Hauf's. That was cool.

Well, I leave Germany on the 26th of July, and I'm gonna be in Scotland for some time, then I go to either D.C. or back home. We'll see.

Ich bin in Deutschland

Well, I'm back in Germany after my incredible trip to Oman. I'm now living with the Findlays, and I think that that will be very good for me. Yesterday Alex showed me around Röttenbach (the town where I'm now living). We went to the local pub and had lots of beer (only joking, adults reading this please don't freak out, we actually had one coke each) so that was fun.

Ahhhhhhhhh! It's the last day of school in Vermont and I've still got school for a few weeks, that's not fair!! :(

anyway, I'll see you all later

Brendan, Beer (kidding, it was coke) Guzzler

hooray

Well folks, I'm alive... just so you know. The hurricane was exciting, everything was flooded, roeads were destroyed, and apparently fifteen people in Oman died, so that was fun. Tomorrow I think I'll go shopping, buy some stuff, and maybe eat some pizza.

Well, that's about all

Brendan, he who has now been in: an earthquake, a hurricane, a tornado, and several snow storms. Think I need any other natural disasters or is my collection complete?

Monday, June 4, 2007

uh......... yeah

Well, just to fill you all in, tomorrow there's meant to be a hurricane, so, yeah. Today I went to the beach, and just on either side of us the mountains were going into the sea, and there were little hills of rock out in the sea, a few kilometers away. I was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Earlier in the week I went camping in the highest mountains in Oman. In the morning we went for a walk, right next to the ravine, thousands of feet to the bottom, it was awe-inspiring. I may be able to put up some pictures, so, yeah.

Well, that's about all, Oman is the coolst country I've ever been to.

play

Luke and have been writing a play. Tell me what you think about it.

THE LORD OF THE LIGHTSABER’S FELLOWSHIP TO SAVE THE PEOPLE BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY THOSE EVIL MACHINES IN THE MOUNT BOOM PROGRAM ON THE BIG EVIL CIRCULAR WEAPON THING IN BETWEEN THOSE TOWERS TO WHICH BOTH A JEDI AND A KING WILL RETURN WHEN THE EVIL ROBOTS ENSLAVING HUMANITY STRIKE BACK BY RELOADING THIR GUNS AND HAVING A REVOLUTION

a play written by Brendan Collins and Luke Mathewson

(This has no affiliation with anything else written by these authors, all characters and places are parodies of other characters and places with no consent from the original writers and producers. Enjoy the show!)

ACT 1, SCENE 1

Setting: a grassy hill with a little blue door and a bunch of midgets running around.

Muke But uncle Pigpoo!! I can’t have these robots ready for the pushing of carts by Tuesday!

Pigpoo You can and you will or your Aunt Pooloo and I won’t fund your schooling!

Muke You can take away my funding, but I shall be a plumber, like my father before me!

Pooloo Ah, yeah, about that, we’ve kind of lied to you about your father all these years. He was kinda’ a homicidal maniac with magic powers and then drownded himself in a rowboat accident.

Muke stands with mouth agape, standing still for an absurd amount of time. Snaps back to senses.

Muke Ok. So ...I.... I am dumbfounded for two very good reasons. A. you lied to me for years about who I truly was and who my father was, and B. You said drownded!! How incredibly stupid are you?

Pigpoo Your aunt and I think you should have this.
Takes out a lightsaber, hands it to muke

Muke You’re so stupid.
Muke ignites blade, slices pigpoo and Pooloo’s heads off.

No! Why did they have to die!! They were so young!!
Enter Mandalf
Who are you?

Mandalf I am Mandalf. Muke, you have nothing here. Come with me and I shall teach you the forgotten art of the tango, your father knew it. He was the best dancer in the galaxy.

Muke I shall go with you, and learn the way of the tango.

Mandalf Good, but first I must run off to Penis Nirith, to see if your lightsaber was one of the eleventy magical ones. In the meantime I suggest you stay here and dress in bright colors and eat a lot. If I do not arrive within a year I shall send one of my trusted friends, Glider, to you.
Exit Mandalf

Muke I can’t wait to learn the forgotten art of the tango! But first I have a question that must be answered. What is the waitress?
Enter Infinity

Infinity I know who you are, Muke . I know everything about you. How you don’t like broccoli, why you stay awake at night. You’re looking for him, I know because I was also looking for him once.

Muke Oh. Well, I generally sleep very well, and broccoli is actually very delicious. But who is this him that you speak of?

Infinity I speak of the great Transformeus.

Muke Oh.

Infinity You must go and meet him

Muke . . . . . .

Infinity Uh. . .Muke?

Muke (waking up) It’s the A-bomb, duck and cover! Oh right, you. So, are you going to take me to this transformer dude?

Infinity Yes, I will take you to Transformeus. Now just relax, this is going to feel a little wierd. (takes out a rubber chicken, a tazer, and a book on Voodoo)

Muke Ar-Are you sure about this?

Infinity Positive, here goes.

(rubber chicken is stuck somewhere out of sight, Muke smiles and Infinity shocks him with the tazer)

Muke Owww! That hurt like Hell!

Infinity Huh. . . Maybe we’ll just take the car. Come wih me, your new name will be Neosporin. I can only show you my finger, but it is you that must walk through the door.

Muke But. . . . . . . . . . .okay.
exit Infinity, with Muke following and humming a Tango

Act 1 Scene 2
setting:the bridge of a starship with a palanir sitting on a pedestal in the center. A dark figure is staring into it.

Lord Tater My Hot Pockets are almost done. Then I shall eat them, and have dominion over all that is cheesy! Hahahahahahaha!

Syrupman Does that include Harlequin romance novels and Orlando Bloom?

Lord Tater Yes.

Syrupman Excellent, another piece of the plan falls into place.

Act 1 Scene 3
setting: Penis Nirith, city of pure obsidion, in old dusty smelly library.

Mandalf And this lightsaber shall be gifted to him by his his father’s stupid brother, and he shall slay his stupid uncle with his weapon a new.And it shall be the lightsaber created by a man, yet not a man by the name of the great Agent Lithp!!... Oh good God!

Act 1 Scene 4

Muke Where am I?

Transformeus Free your mind.

Infinity See my finger? Look at it!

Muke Right... where am I?

Infinity You are in the fake world!!!!

Muke What does chicken taste like here?

Infinity Everything.

Muke Oh my God!! let me out of this place!!

Transformeus Free your mind.

Muke AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Stop saying that and let me out of here!!

Transformeus Free your mind.

Muke AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
enter Skank

Skank You must be Neosporin. It’s good that you’re here, let’s run through the training programs.

Transformeus Free your mind.

Muke Stop saying that! Does this involve the rubber chicken and tazer?

Skank No, why would it. . . . . ? Never mind, just stab this huge needle into a random oraface.

Muke Okay.

Infinity Load the jump program.

Skank Whatever.
(Muke and Transformeus are transported to the top of a building)

Skank What if he makes it?

Infinity No one makes the first jump.

Skank Yeah, but what if he does?

Transformeus Free your mind.

Muke What? Oh yeah, jump, right, whatever, hello, echo, . . . . .
Muke jumps from the edge of the building and lands on the next building

Infinity What, well, there goes our learning experience and good story.

Act 1 Scene 5
Mandalf and Glider matiaralize on top of the building

Mandalf Muke, your lightsaber is the evil Agent Lithp’s. It will take over your brain and make you an evil guy in a creepy black hooded cloak. I would like you to meet Glider, the last of the lost fools of Penis Nirith.

Glider Yes. Now get this joke. I can kill stuff with a sword. Hahahahahhahhahahahahahah! See it’s funny because it’s true!

Muke Uhhhhh...
Lord Smellwrong and rubber chicken appear on roof

Mandalf Muke, this is lord Smellwrong and... a random rubber chicken.

Random midgets appear on the roof and a gnome

Lord Smellwrong You shall be the fellowship of the lightsaber.
You must take it to the big evil circular weapon thing where it was created, there you shall save all Humanity from a bunch of robots and it’s where you will destroy the lightsaber.

Glider You have my jokes

Mimli(the gnome) you have my pointy hat.

Rubber Chicken Squeak.

Transformeus Free your mind.
The Century Eagle appears, flys and lands on top of the roof. Man Polo and Grumbly get off it and walk up to Muke.

Man Polo you have my ship.

Grumbly Mugh, blamuhhhhh.

Mandalf You have my duck.

midget 1 And you have my... absolutely nothing.

Muke Let us go, we have quite a journey ahead of us.

Act 2, Scene 1
setting: bridge of a starship, Lord Tater and Syrupman the off-white playing a game of chess.

Syrupman the off-white So, lord Tater, how’s the wife?

Lord Tater Not so good, she has the flu and I think that she’s been cheating on me. It’s rather depressing really.

Syrupman the off-white Ahh, see this is why I don’t bother with women. Men are so much more, trustworthy...
Touches Lord Tater on the leg, moving hand up slowly.

Lord Tater No, Syrupman, I’m sorry, I can’t do this. Checkmate.
Runs out of the room crying.

Syrupman Why does this always happen? Snakemouth had the same reaction. It’s ok though, another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.

Act 2 Scene 2
setting: the top of a mountian

Man Polo Where are we?

Mimli Well, obviously we went through some sort of a space-time continuem to an alternate dimension where there are mountains and stuff. . . ..

Mandalf Shut up Mimli. We are on the top of a mountain somewhere in Anywhere-But-The-Middle-Of-Some-Planet-Maybe-Earth, now we must decide. Either we keep going over this mountain and probably freeze to death, Go around through the Gap of Rachael and get killed by Syrupman the Off-White’s evil Stormagent-hai.

Mimli We could go through the Mines of Molasses, my brother Baba would give us a royal welcome.

Mandalf No Mimli, I would not go through the Molasses unless I had no other choice. But for no apparent reason I think the lightsaber bearer should decide.

Muke . . . .. . .. . .. . . . . . .

Glider Muke? Muke uh wake up.

Muke Sorry, drifted off. . . . . . We will go through the mines.

Transformeus Free your mind.

Act 2 Scene 3
setting:bedroom of a starship

Lord Tater Enough of this Syrupman, we must carry on with the plan. You said that you had enlisted someone to help us.

Syrupman Yes, he should be here soon.
enter Agent Lithp
Here he is.

Agent Lithp It ith an honor to meeth you in perthon Lord Thater.

Syrupman The pleasure is all mine. . .

Lord Tater Are you prepared to get rid of this kid?

Agent Lithp Tho who ith thith “kid”

Lord Tater He goes by the name of Muke Faggins or Neosporin. You must find him and bring him before me.

Syrupman After that, bring me a bowl of chili.

Agent Lithp Yeth my mathter.
exit Agent Lithp
Syrupman Excellent, another piece of the plan falls into place.

Act 2 Scene 4
setting: the Mines of Molasses

Mandalf This is a two day journey to the other side.
They walk obsene amount of time
The riches of the mines of molasses was not in gold, or diamonds, but in molasses flavoured condoms. Pigpoo had a lot of these molasses condoms, he didn’t know it but they were worthmore than his robots.

Mimli That is a strangley arousing gift..

Mandalf I have no lavatory in this place.

Transformeus Free your mind.

Muke Who is it?

Mandalf It’s Mullom, he has been following us for hours.

Maullum The pigpoo took it from us, we must have the molasses condoms and the lightsaber back.

Muke Go away.

Maullum Ok, but I may return.
exit Maulum muttering about his precious and. . . doing something else,I don’t know what, but something random. By the way, I may as well go rambling on with these stage directions, you’ll never get to see the rest of the play AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

Mandalf Escaped, or set loose?

Muke What?...

Mandalf he hates and loves the condom, just as he hates and loves margaret Thatcher... Quickly, this way, I have the ears of a bunhead princess and can sniff us out of this cocaine... I mean cavern.

Muke Oooooooooooook
wedding march plays, drums extra loud.

Mandalf They are coming.

Rubber chicken Who are coming?

Midget 1 They are.

Muke Who is this they?

Han polo You know, the only they that there is.

Grumbly Mugghhhhhhhh.. uuumras graaaaaaaap blough!

Mandalf Syrupman’s Stormagent-hais. With evil laser dildos! This is beyond any of you-run!

Stormagent-hais arrive, mindless sensless killing ensues with no one even considering peaceful negotiations.Muke gets stabbed but lives. Infinnity appears and then dies. Then a rancor comes in the room and eats everyone, however gnomes taste so bad that Mimli makes him throw up. Then Han Polo kills him. They run out of the Mines of molasses.

Man Polo Wow, that was close, but did you see how my Old Navy polo shirt saved the day? (now at even lower prices, it’s cheaper than stealing!)

Everyone(including Man Polo) What?

Glider I think we all know the real hero here-the rubber chicken. Wait, where’s Infinity?

Everyone Who cares? We’re off to see the wizard!

Mandalf: Um, I’m right here.

Everyone else: (muttering) Well that kind of ruins it and everything

Act 2 Scene 5

setting; the fake world, apartment building, flat number 69, sixth floor.

What you need to know Woman Yeah, well you think dat he’s da one? What kind of monkey intestines do you have flying out of your mouth Mandalf?!

Mandalf I know that he is a little old, yet I feel that the tango flows through him as syrup does through a river dam. it’s strange, I don’t know how to describe it . It’s like I’ve been looking for a blank cd my entire life. So, what do you say to that?

What you need to know Woman Look, my name has little bearing on what I do in real life. I am not an oracle, I mind a cash register at the convinience store down the road. But this time, I will live up to my name and tell you what to do. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU POINTY HATTED, BOOK READING MIDGET LOVER AND TAKE ALL YOUR WEED WITH YA. I’ve got plenty of my own, thank you.

Mandalf Fine, then I’ll go to the oracle, it’s just... it’s just that due to international copyright laws she’s not allowed to be in this play, so if you could just start reading some minds and stuff then...

What you need to know Woman OUT!!!!!!

Act 3 Scene 1
setting: nowhere important

Mandalf uh-hu. I see.... you’re saying that if I chose to live with my mother the benefits will be good, I’ll get cancer though, we found out that it was contagiuos, remember? Now repeat.

Muke Why?

Mandalf Ohhhhh Muke, you just don’t get it, do you? If you say those words then the tango shall be stronger in you then it will be or has been in anyone else. You are the chosen one, and as such must do what I say. Therefore, repeat.

Muke No.

Mandalf Okay, Muke, you’re complicating my life, just say it.

Muke Uhhh… sure whatever, I’ll say it.

Mandalf When shall I expect it said?

Muke Whenever it is when I plan to say it.

Mandalf oh.

Oman

Well, I've been in Oman a few days and it is AWESOME!!!! I've gone hiking in the mountains (which are incredible, not because of their hight, but becaus they have nothing growing on them, they're pure rock). While hiking (me, Uncle Robin, and John)we saw a gazelle run by us and then just leap up the mountain. It was at the top in under two minutes, it was really cool. Then we met some of the Beduin people, they're nomads who roam the desert and the mountains.

We've also gone to the sea to go swimming. It was beautiful, and very nice. The temperature was perfect.

Todeay I went shopping a bit. The currency here is called the Rial, and one Rial is equivalent to two dollars and forty cents. I have also larned how to write my name in Arabic, and if people would like I could learn how to write their names in Arabic and show them how when I get back.

It is extremely hot here, today it got up to about 110 degrees, which is normal here. I have started to get tanned, and that is pretty unusual for me, but the sun is much stronger here.

Another thing that I find interestin is the architecture, the buildings are very different here, I think that they're actually nicer than the buildings we have in western Europ and the USA.

Well, I'll be writing more frequently now,
Brndan, he who can write his name in Arabic... YAY!

day not sure anymore

Well, sorry I havn't been posting daily, but I've been busy doing not too much. Wednesday I played rugby, that was really fun. Then we went to the pub with the club and had a beer each, and I hung out with a guy on the team that I've grown rather found of, and coincedentally his name is Aidan. Aidan is from Dublin, knows Father Ted, loves good Sci-Fi literature, and is just a bit bigger than me so I' can tackle him just about anytime he gets the ball. All the team was saying I had natural talent and that if I wasn't leaving in August and if I wasn't so light that I would have been an incredible player. I made a try in the scrimmage game where I got the ball in the backfield and then plowed through EVERYONE on the other team and then scored. That was fun.

Anyway, since then (wednesday) not much has happened.

Have fun!
Brendan

day 76... I think

Well,
TOday was okay, I was very tired (I don't know why, I went to bed earlier than I usually do)but I was okay. I did the usual monday stuff, which meant go to school and be bored out of my mind. When I got back to the dwelling of the Schlerfs I took a nap. Then Andi woke me up to ask me if I wanted to go to karate with him. I said sure, so I went to karate practice. At the end we had little practice fights. I threw a punch at my opponent's chest, he delfected it right into his own nose, and started to bleed. That wasn't cool, I felt pretty guilty, and apologized pufusely. However, there was some pleasure in hurting someone and in being hurt. Kind of strange really.

Well, that's about all
Brendan the very tired for some reason guy

Sunday, May 13, 2007

day something-or-other

Well, first I'd like to apologize for not writing for a while, the computer here has been messed up, so sorry about that folks.

Today wasn't very interesting, I went to a Mittelalter Fest (renaissance fair). But I had no money, so I was bored for several hours.

Well, that's about all,
Brendan the guy and blarg honk blarg

Tuesday, May 8, 2007

Hey folks... just writing because I think you expect to hear from me... not much to say, go see Spider-Man 3.

Brendan, yeah........

Monday, May 7, 2007

day 69 (hehehehehehe)

Hey folks, today I had school, that was rather fun. Not much to write, but I was the only person who managed to find a positive aspect of mosquitos during English class with the eleventh grade today.

Well, have a nice day, and, well... that's about it.

Brendan, he who can see the positive side of mosquitos

Sunday, May 6, 2007

day 68

Well, today I talked a lot, and all of that, right fools? Not much happened, but yeah, it was a cool day.

BRENDAN, he who has a big name

P.S. Check out the show 'samurai champloo', I know it's anime, but it's actually rather good.

Saturday, May 5, 2007

days 66 and 67

Gonna make this short.

Hung out with Alex (If you don't know him ask Teddy)(6'8" British dude) a lot, we went to see Spider-man 3, opening day, in the theater (English, but what are you gonna do?). That was fun. Then we watched Little Britain forever (till three in the morning).
Today we went to Nurnburg, went shopping a bit, and the 'American Store' had no footballs.

Then we went to a rugby match, and we played a mix between rugby, football, and piggy in the middle with these other kids. Alex and I may join the rugby club, which would be cool. Something funny rugby related is this. Alex's dad (who's English) was explaining rugby to me. Here's the dialogue:

Brendan: I'm small and fast, what could I do in rugby?
Colin: (explains certain positions and proper body-build for them, then says)you'd be a fairly good hooker (that's a position in the scrum, but imagine how I took it)

Ten seconds went by then I burst out in laughter, then he, Alex, and Petra (Alex's mom)all got it and started to laugh.

Well, that's it for tonight (or whatever time of day you're reading this) folks!
Brendan, he who would be a fairly good hooker

Thursday, May 3, 2007

day 65

Today sucked. That's all.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

day 64

Hey folks
Well, today was basically a typical school day. One of the things I like about this school is being allowed to go off school property and buy stuff. I did that today. I had classes with the 11th grade and that was fun. I hung out with Alex, and we spoke both German and English. Diese Freitag, noch Schule, Ich gehe zu Alex nach Hause. I'm gonna be at his house the whole weekend, and on saturday Alex, Christian and I are going to the movie theater.

Yes, mister Hatfield, I went rock-climbing, it was fun, but I'm scared of it... sooooo... yeah.

Well, that's today's news,
Brendan, the guy that does stuff

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

day 63

Nothing really happened today. It was Herr Schlerf's birthday and we had a cookout, but seriously, that's about it.

Brendan, he who is bored

Monday, April 30, 2007

day 62

SERVUS! Wow, sixty two days in Germany.... feels like ten. Not too much happened today, I learned that my 'Unabridged Mark Twain' book lacks the Mark Twain book Pudd'n Head Wilson, therefore making it an abridged collection. I decided to take a walk when I finished the book Eragon, it was very nice. I met one of my friends during the walk, then I met Bruno, who was very happy to see me. We hung out a while, I bought him a snickers and.... yeah.

Well, it's definate that I'm going to Oman my next school break for about three weeks, and I'm very excited about that.

There's a bit of German, just to prove that I have actually learned some. FOr those of you that can read German, please let me know if I made mistakes, German grammer is very difficult for me, so I'd appreciate corrections where they're due. I've also not written my own German sentences too much... I think I speak it better than I write it.

Servus(Bavarian for both hello and good-bye)
Brendan, he has written in German and does not know if he did it correctly

Sunday, April 29, 2007

uhhhhhhhhhh.....stuff

Well, hello there, he seemed to say. How are you all doing? I'm doing fine, today I went rock climbing with the Schlerfs and the entire time I was thinking of how proud Ben would be of me. That was really fun, but really difficult as well. I also started reading the book Eragon, and it's not bad at all. After the rock climbing we went out to eat and I had really good fish.

Overall, thinmgs are going well. I'm having a good time, though I will confess I do miss speaking to Teddy all the time.

Well, I GOODBYE FOOLISH MORTALS
Brendan, he who is both immortal and for some reason

yesterday

Sorry I forgot to write yesterday, here's what happened. I went to the beach with Nina's boyfriend Julian, he and I are becoming good friends. We went swimming, and I went sunbathing for the first time, and discovered the true meaning of being bored while getting a sunburn. We made a little fire, and also had cocktails. It was a beautiful day, 80-85 degrees and the sun was shining bright.

Well gotta go
Brendan

THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Hey folks, I'm back in Germany after 12 days in the Czech Republic... sweet. The trip was really fun, though the food was reeeeaaaalllly bad. We stayed in a youth Hostel, and that was cool. I was in a room with Christoph, Christian, Johannes, Jan Peters, Jan David, (the name JAN is pronounced Yan)Tobias, and Yannick. They weer really cool roomies, and we had a great time. I got to know the class much better, and they're all really nice people. I also did a lot of work, after two months with no work it actually felt good to be doing something that required thinking (that didn't involve learning German. Every night I played either volleyball or soccer for at least an hour, and got pretty good at volleyball, and better at soccer. Though in comparison to some people in my class here even Jasper looks terrible. Some of the guys have made it their mission to make me an incredible soccer player before I go, though I think we're only gonna get to the 'better than most Americans' stage. Christian lost his cell phone ('handi' is cell phone in German slang) and that sucks, but whatever.

In other news, it looks like I'm going to be in Oman (somewhere in the Mid-East, I think) from the end of May to sometime in June to visit my Mother's brother and his family, that should be a lot of fun.

well, ta!
Brendan, he who is becoming well-traveled

Going to the Czech Republic

So, this will be my last post for about two weeks because tomorrow I'm going to the Czech Republic with my class. I dont' expect that I'll have access to a computer, at least not on a regular basis. If I do get a chance, I'll post, but don't expect it. We get back on April 27th, so everybody stay cool, and I'll write to you later.

Brendan, the traveller

Saturday, April 14, 2007

day 46

Well, it's the 46th day of Germany, and therefore the 53rd day of my trip. Well, Today I did a lot of hard physical work because I'm helping to build a camp. That meant that I had to move a lot of wood, do a lot of digging, and eat a sandwhich. That was really all I did, I got along well with the other people working there, and they seemed to understand what I was saying, I certainly understood what they were saying.

Yes Mother, I have been finding it a little strange that your posts go under my name, but I figured it out quickly enough to not be terribly confused.

Well, have a nice day folks, please post, it's nice to hear from folk.

blog

Because my Mother dislikes reading white on blck, but seems content with black on white, and asked me to change the colors of my blog, I have done so. So enjoy the pain and horribly unnatural new colors of my blog.

day 45

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I just forgot one day and couldn't be bothered the next. Today I hung out with Micheal, the Schlerf's nephew and played Magic with him and won every game, which was fun. We also played PS2 together, and basically talked and got along well. Later in the day I got a headache and slept for about five hours to get rid of it.

Well, tha's all folks
Brendan

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

day 42

Today I went to Nurnberg and went shopping, but not the fun kind of shopping with books or magic cards, but womanly shopping. You see, Andi has gone for the week to some camp thing and Herr Schlerf was at work. So I went to every clothes store in Nurnberg, every jewelry store, masses of shoe stores, and, of course, many stores devoted to lotions and perfumes. This endless quest of pointless shopping drve me to the brink of insanity. Then Herr Schlerf, having finished work joined us and took me to a book store, where he baught me the Douglas Adam book THE LONG DARK TEA-TIME OF THE SOUL.

Well, that's about it... so bye.

day 41

Hey, so, from where I left off...
I went part way to the airport with Teddy, and was dropped off before he got there. I then, with the Schlerfs, went to a beach, and afterwards a castle. It was fun I guess. Then we got back and I spent a lot of time listening to Eddie Izzard, who is an incredible comidian. Now I'm watching a movie in German, no subtitles, and I can get what's going on, though I do prefer movies with subtitles.

Well, 'till later
Brendan

Easter part 2

Well, let's see...

I went to Teddy's on his last day here, we packed and talked and did a lot of things, it was very nice. We also went to a fair in Nurnberg, which was pretty chill and won little toy flowers. Yeah.... we mainly talked, I mean while we did other things we talked, we were talking the whole time. I got there at 10:15 in the morning and Teddy and I were up talking until 4:00 in the morning, really wonderful little chats.

We also talked to Christian about what we're going to have him do in Vermont, which was cool. Later Corbinian asked me what he should title his report about Vermont, and I suggested VERMONT, THE LAND OF MAPLE SYRUP, and he liked it and used it, all in all a really wonderful day.

See my folks and friends in Vermont in august!

day 38

I'm tired, so I'll make this quick. Today I finished reading Dune Messiah. I wanted to eat, but I was fasting (good friday) so I didn't. I also spent a couple hours working on translating an Asterix and Obelix comic, and I did some practice SATs.

Well, I'm going fishing tomorrow!

day 37

Today I went to Weissenburg, which is a little town about 15 km away, it was nice though. Then nothing much happened until dinner, when I ate, had several conversations in German, and was given a micky mouse comic book in German to read, which is cool because I can actually understand what I'm reading.

Oh yeah, I made lunch for everyone today, I made them those things I made for us at home a while ago, the egg-toast derived from V for Vendetta. They all liked it very much, and that was nice.

Well... not much else
Long Live Paul Maud'dib!!

day 36

Today was cool, I got my hair cut, for free, and it's actually pretty good. It's six millimeters long. Bruno came over and cut it as promised. Then I went into Heideck with Julian, Bruno, and Nina. I taught Bruno and Julian our snap-pound it high fives from Vermont, and that was cool. We watched Fightclub, half in German with English subtitles and half in English with German subtitles. I got to hang out with the Heideck gangsters, or the people as close to gangsters as Heideck has.
I told the Schlerfs I'd make them dinner tomorrow, that should be fun.

Uhh. Cal, could you change your name? Puffinfucker is making my Mom angry.

Well, that's all for tonight,
Brendan

day 35

Hi,

Today I woke up at about 1:00, watched Harry Potter in German, and then went with Nina and her boyfriend to her boyfriend's friend's place. He lives in a hotel. We played X-box for about four or five hours, the only game I did well at was Halo (yeah, creepy, I did well in Halo and beat them all...). One of Julian's friends said he'd give me a free haircut, so I'm taking him up on that.

Well, that's about all, and don't worry Mom, I have plans to go to church on Easter.

Cheerio!
Brendan

day 34

Not to much happened today, I watched Kingdom of Heaven and Troy in German with English subtitles, I read a little, but I mainly played with Lara and Philip, the Neighbor's kids. We played soccer and jumped on the trampoline.

I also called the school today during lunchtime, and had short chats with many people, which was nice.

Well, that's about it... oh yeah, Mom, this is a reminder that you said you'd recharge my card on Easter, I'll need more than just 100 minutes, as each of my conversations with my family is much longer than I intend, and I must comunicate with friends also.

See ya
Brendan

day 33

Hey people
Today was very interesting. I was taught how to rollerblade and how to skateboard, though I was much better at the rollerblading. We had a barbeque today, which reminded me strongly of my Dad and his love for burning stuff on a grill. The meat in Germany far surpasses the meat in America, and the bread.
Soooooo, yeah... I spent my day rollerblading, falling down, and getting very uncomfortable by running into bushes head-on at a fast speed. I was cool though. Tonight, on my request, the Schlerfs are renting Serenity, which is and incredible movie and if you haven't seen it see it.

Sorry I didn't post yestereday, but I wrote my post on the laptop, and just before I hit the publish button it ran out of battery.

Hey Mister Hatfield! Nice to hear from you. Na, I didn't really get that math stuff, I only have one math class a week, so I'm a bit lost. Things are going well, and it's nice to hear from familiar folk. So thanks for posting.

note

I am not sure, but I think I just agreed to let google put ads on my blog because they said they'd give me money, I may not have, but I don't know.

day 31

Cool, I mean, seriously, you guys. Today was excellent, though kind of sad in a way. At school we had an assembly and I got up on stage with the rest of my class and said some poem thing that I think was about Jesus, as Christ appeared a lot in the text. It was Teddy's last day at school here, and he was called up onstage and given gifts and said his farewells to people (that's the sad part, Teddy and I have become much closer friends lately and he'll never get to interact with me or me with him in a school setting again. Unless I go to the same college, which I doubt).
When I got back to the Schlerf's I went for a long walk in town. It's very sunny and warm here, so I went in a store and got ice cream (choclate in flavor) I was very successful at speaking to the creamer (person serving me ice cream, is there an official term for that occupation, or is it just ice cream man?) in fact, the creamer didn't even realize that I wasn't (and still am not, actually) a native in German. That was up lifting.
School ended for me today, and will not start again untill the 16th of april, then I go on a two week field trip with my class to the Czech Republic (I think I spelled that incorrectly, so Mother, if you're reading this and I did mess up, I want you to know I know I made a mistake. I am just to lazy to fix it).I will not have access to a computer for my two weeks on the field trip, so this is a warning that I will not be posting on my blog or e-mailing anyone during that time.

Well, that's all I got for today,
Brendan, he who has got all that for today

WARNING: IF YOU GET AN E-MAIL FROM ME INVOLVING PENISES, THAT IS CALUM'S DOING; HE KNOWS MY PASSWORD, BUT I DON'T FEEL LIKE CHANGING IT. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO INCIDENTS ALREADY, AND I APOLOGIZE IF YOU ARE THIS DEVIL'S NEXT VICTIM.

day 30

Well, first of all I'd like to say happy birthday to Dad, because I forgot to post it yesterday. Nothing much is happening, though at school today the only class I had was Main Lesson, because our teachers were sick and stuff. I played my first game of Magic in Germany, but was incapable of finishing it because I had a meeting with my advisor. After tomorrow spring break starts, that's going to be fun, I think, though Teddy is leaving, and that's bad.

Well, folks, write Tomorrow!

day 29

Tosay was a normal, uneventful day at school. Really nice weather, and that about sums it all up.... Wow, that was a lame post.

day 28

Hey Folks,
It's day twenty eight, and it was basically the same as yesterday, though I had sports today and played soccer, that was fun. I had a few conversations in German, though I flounder the kids here help me out. The good news is that I was not accused of vandalism today. Oh yeah, I also made a crossword puzzle which is awesome.
Well, that's all for today,
Brendan

P.S. I've been in Germany fo a month now, already 1/5 done with the trip!

Monday, March 26, 2007

day 27

Today was really, really good. I had several successful conversations in German, the most important one being about Spongebob Squarepants, which a lot of my classmates seem to like. I'm actually starting to really enjoy myself, and have cut down on the English. I think I am getting much better, and Teddy said that I'm at the point where I'm going to learn a lot really quickly and start to really enjoy it.
It was a nice day, the sun was shining brightly and I decided to take a walk, off into the country in my slippers. That was very relaxing. There was a bad part of my day, you see, the students here tend to write on the desks. A teacher saw me fiddling with my pen on the desk, and as the writing on the desk was in English (it said "Piss Off") it was assumed that had done it. When trying to explain that I didn't in fact do that, and that if the teacher checked the color of my pen's ink or compared the hand writing I would be found innocent, I was screemed at to clean the table, so I was never heard. However, as the rest of the day was exeptionally pleasent, I'll let that slide.
I did some of my homework, which is good, because without staedy work I have re-developed my old tendency of slacking off. However, I noticed this an d am trying to rectify the situation.

Go ahead, have a nice day, and crucify a cow.
Brendan, he who can have basic German conversations and speak well very very badly.

day 26

I really did nothing today...seriously.

Brendan the Uneventful

Saturday, March 24, 2007

day 25

well, not too much happened today. I woke up at 1:30, effectivly missing lunch and went about my day. I did some stuff online, not very much. I also spoke to Isolde (my host mother) and her mother, had a little conversation. Then I listened to music and read. Really quiet day where nothing really happened. Oh! Of course, I started writing a short story. It is about a fight between the father and the mother of a child. I tell the same story, once from the child's point of view, once from the mother's, and once from the father's.

Well, that's all folks!

just another day in Germany

Well, it is another day in Germany, and not a bad one at that. School was interesting, on main lesson we're learning about the Greeks. More specifically, the battle of Thermopolaye (I'm aware of the fact that that is misspelled, don't blsme me, blsme the fool who gave it such a difficult name) of which I know a lot, due to my paper on the Spartans. From what I can glean from the lessons I know that if I could speak German fluently, I could teach it better that our teacher. Then I had social studies, and that class was an interview of me, in an attempt to learn about America from a Native. My classmates asked me questions and I answered to the best of my ability in German. I checked out the English section of the library (I know, I'm in Germany to learn German, but as English literature is pretty much my favorite thing, I could not resist the tremptation) and was impresser with it. It gad many excellent novels, among the 1984, by George Orwell, Hucklebury Finn, by Mark Twain, and many others. They also had Shakespeare's plays, and then some fun, but not so great books, such as Harry Potter, books 1-4, and the Shining, by Stephen King. I also was drawn to one of the books, Stupid White Men, by Micheal Moore, Solely because of it's title. It is rather interesting, however, it's not brilliant.
I have started to like Germany for being Germany, rather than hate in for not being Vermont, and that's good, I suppose. Although I think that that can be partially contributed to the fact that I've found other people who play Magic the Gathering. That is nice.
I also, started looking things up about the American public school system, just out of interest, and I will say that it is a rather depressing topipc. I have started doing some research and will write an essay and post it here, then my readers can correct it or comment or whatever.

Well, the pizza's done and I'm hungry,
So bye!

Brendan, the guy feeling slightly better but not so much.

Thursday, March 22, 2007

I don't even know...

Sorry I havn't been posting lately, I've been feeling very ill, and I still am. Oh well. Things are going better, I'm learning German, slowly, but I am. Well, since I've been ill I've been in bed, and there's nothing really to say. I'll post daily again, but it may not all be interesting.
Bye

days 18 and 19

Sorry about not posting yesterday, I was in a place with no internet. But these two days were so slurred together it doesn't make a difference anyway.
Starting with yesterday... I woke up in Lorenz's house, which seemed pretty resonable as that's where I had gone to sleep. I worked with Lorenz and Christian for a long time, and then read. I departed from Lorenz's house to Christian's house, where I was to be picked up. I watched Teddy writing some of his novel, and ate a berliner doughnut while doing so. That was interesting, especially when Teddy started telling me about his novel. It's very good. I aws picked up by my host family and taken to Patrick's house for his birthday party. I, Andi, and Christoph were the guests. We went out to a pub where an Irish folk musician, named Pat Cookksey was plying, for about 5-6 hours, I had some Bailey's Irush cream with whipped cream on top, and a lot of coke. We played a lot of poker. I wanted to actually bet but the others were scared about losing money. I taught them how to play crypto, which they abrubtly stopped when I wrecked them a few times. We went back to patrick's house and hung out in the celler room, which has all these awesome historical arifacts in it, because Patrick's Dad is a history loving guy. He has suits that Napoleon used, sword, guns from the seventeen hundreds and so many awesome things. He, Patrick's Dad, or more specifically Thomas, is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He gave me an awesome Guiness novelty hat, a mug, and a cd. We then took a walk (this is about at 2:30. or 3:00 in the morning) and were stopped by two police women who tried to get us into falsely accusing ourselves on vandelism charges. I had to show them my ID and stuff, it was pretty freaky at first, but they seemed cool. Then they smoked with my friends and that was that. We got back, and went to sleep. I woke up this afternoon in Patrick's house, which also seemed resonable, so I got up and ate breaklunch. I was picked up, with Andi, by my host family and transported back to my host home. Then I did basically nothing the rest of the day.

Well, guten nacht (or whatever time of day it is at which you're reading this)!
Brendan the Wise (not really)

day seventeen

Today was cool, school was good, and all of that. Afterwards I went to the Flegler dwelling, which was fun. We then went ot work for a bit at the horse place where the fleglers have a lot of horses. I don't really like horses that much but I didn't complain... difficult for me to do that. I got a mocha out of a machine at the horse place, and it was better than any American mocha I've ever encoutered. I had three. After that we went to Nurnburg, to hang out, go shopping, and of course, go to the movie theaters. I finally found German magic cards, an dthey cost a ridiculas amount here, I think I'll be getting cards offline if I buy them here again. I did get a German serendib sorcerer (Serendib-Hexenmeister), and that made me happy, and I got a German Fungal Behemoth (Pilzbehemoth) in that pack as well. For those of you who don't know magic, that's a very good pack.
Now I'm at Lorenz's house, and I just finished a rather pleasent chat with Tom (Miller) over google-chat.

Well, toodle-loo!
Brendan, buyer of over-priced foriegn cards.

Thursday, March 15, 2007

Hey everyone!!

How's it going my chums? I hope well. Today was interesting, rather fun, I might add. I went to school, then went to the Flegler's house for lunch, then went back to school after playing couterstrike with Christian. I read some of the Shining, by Steven King, which is pretty good. I also hung out with Andi, and aczually still am. Oh, yeah, I watched spngebob in German, funnier, if possible, than in English. The weather today was incredible, very sunny andit got up to 17 degrees celsius. I talked to one of Chrisina's friends on the bus, actually, she talked to me because "I looked lonely". She wants to learn English, so she spoke to me in German and I responded in English. It was a mutually bi-lingual conversation. We talked about books, because she was reading, LIFE, THE UNIVERSE, AND EVRYTHING. The third book of the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series, in German, of course. That was pretty cool.
Turns out I'm going to the theater tomorrow, with Andi, Teddy, Christian, Corbi, and Lorenz, whom I haven't seen since I was in seventh grade.

Well, I'm busy watching boxing with Andi (boxing is the most ungraceful thing ever).
so I'll say bye 'till tomorrow!

day fifteen

Well, it's the fifteenth day...cool. More about my trip, well, anything I do here in Germany is inevitably part of my trip, so anything I write, even about reading, will be about my trip. I got €50 out of ein Geldautomat(ATM) today, because I had just about run out of cash. Please put more in my account Mom. I did a lot today, I hung out with Nina and her boyfriend, he wants to learn English and I want to learn German so he speaks German to me and I speak to him in English.
I have made many arrangements for doing social things. On saturday I'm going to a birthday partry, on sunday I'm going to theaters with Teddy, Christian, Corbi, and Lorenz. (this is a maybe, will probably happen but may not). Then on wednesday, in a week, I'm going to a shooting range with Christina's boyfriend. I think that'll be fun, he's a nice guy.
I did a bunch of German work today, looking things up in my dictionary, and working on the coursebook I was given. I also watched THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS in german. Not nearly as good, oh yeah, I also watched cartoons in German. Well, until I have more time differences will be in a simple list.

TODAY'S: The Germans have many cobblestone streets in their towns.
Well, POST, YOU FOOLISH MORTALS!!!(please?)
Brendan

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

day fourteen

Hey people, how's it going? Things over here are going rather well, I am starting to adjust and therefore feel substantially better. I had a good day today, went to school and all that. I read the entirety of THE STRANGER, by Albert Camus for the second time. It is a life-changing book and I believe that everybody must read it.
We had sport class today, in which we played soccer, which isn't as much fun here because everybody is better than me. Oh well, guess I'll have to deal with it. It is now the 21st day of my trip, though only 14 have been in Germany. It feels like only a week ago I waved good-bye to my family in the airport, funny how these things work.
I spent a long time today trying to find an ATM, and after a while managed to convey what that is. I am going to it tomorrow, and I shall withdraw another €60. I am still not quite done with the first sixty but I think sixty every three weeks sounds fairly reasonable.
I also watched German TV today, advice given by Teddy. I watched Spongebob Squarepants, which was even funnier in German.
I have been asked to make cultural observations, so I shall make one a day.
TODAY'S: The German's never drink plain water, it is always carbonated.

Well, that's about it. I'd appreciate more posts, it's pretty lonely without your comments.

Brendan, or, to these people, He Who Is An American.

lucky day thirteen

Hi everybody, so, as you all know today was the thriteenth day of my trip, and it all went rather well. I went to school, which was rather nice. People try to speak English to me, but today Teddy caught them and gave them a stern talking-to. I have finally been given homework, I was given a German textbook and have to do a chapter of that a week, to improve my vocab and grammer.
I have been invited to go to the movies with Teddy, Lorenz (those in my class may remember Lorenz), Christian and Corbi. I have also been invited to Patrick's party on saturday, as it is his birthday. On the topic of going out and doing things, apperently I am going to see THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO in july, which will be cool I guess.
I also watched THE PIRATES OF THE CARRIBIAN in German, with English subtitles. Then I watched V for VENDETTA on my Ipod.

Well, that's about it. Apart from I'd like to say "Happy birthday Aidan"!
Your host 'N' stuff

day twelve

Well, it's day twelve, and it has gone pretty well. I didn't do much today though, I wanted to have a quite kind of relaxing day, so I stayed mostly to myself. I Know that some people (Mom) think I should socialize more but, whatever.
I mainly read today, in both German and English. I read something that our teacher gave us to read, and I read basically, actually all of, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. A very good book which I advise all who have not read to do so, preferably promptly.
I also watched The Patriot today, auf Deutsch. It is a very good movie, also very bloody, but that is partz of its great appeal.

Well, it's nearly midnight and I tired, so bye-bye.
Brendan

day eleven

Hi everybody! IT's day eleven, and the evleventh day is one that has gone well. This morning Teddy and I got up early to make pancakes, for it was AMERICAN DAY. The pancake project was tedious because we had to convert cups, teaspoons, tablespoon, etc. into milligarms, and all those other weird German mesurments. The pancakes turned out great, everyone liked them. Everyone means me, Teddy, Cristoph (Anna's brother) Christiaan, Corbi, and Johannes, another friend.
Then I hung out with Teddy, went online a bit, and played halo on his computer. Those were all great. Then we went to the store to get some stuff for our American lunch. We got some really bad American pre-sliced bread, because German bread is to nice to pass as American, and ham, chips, you know. We ended up having ham sandwiches. They were pretty good as well.
When I got back home I called a few peopple, and went online, downloaded AIM (my screen name is jugglerofgeese@gmail.com. Then I watched Gladiator for the first time ever and I will say that that is a very good movie.

Bye-bye

day ten

Hi Everyone, it's day ten and I accidentally deleted my other blog!! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! I am very frustrated. However, the blogging must continue.
Today was pretty good, as was school. Of course, by school being good I mean that in the way that it ended at 1:25. Then I went home with Teddy, Christian, and Corbi. I hung out at their house fo awhile, then went shopping with Teddy and Corbi. We shopped for food for AMERICAN DAY tomorrow, and Teddy and I will cook. That's gonna be rather fun. When we got back Teddy and I spoke much of sci-fi, and went online to look at Battlestar Galactica stuff. I then read some of Teddy's book, which is very good.
We were then called to go play soccer. We picked up a couple other people and played three on three. My team won, seven to six. I scored six of my team's points and that was fun. When we got back Teddy made us dinner, which was very good, and very sausagey.

Well, that's about it, and I am very frustrated that I deleted my blog, so CIAO.
Brendan
